What Does the 12th Anniversary Gift Mean?
Silk is soft and very strong for its weight, which is the reading: twelve years in, a marriage that is gentle and tough at once. Linen is the plainer cousin, a fiber that gets better with every wash. Both are woven, and woven things are made of many threads holding each other up. The 12th is not in Emily Post’s Etiquette (1922), which listed only eight anniversaries. It comes from the expanded year-by-year list generally credited to American jewelers in 1937 (history). Hallmark’s list gives silk or linen.

What We Make for the 12th
Our Woven Family Saga style paints the two of you (or the whole family) as a medieval woven tapestry, from one ordinary photo. It is a printed portrait, not woven silk, but it has the woven look and your real faces. It prints as a framed canvas, a canvas or a puzzle, and pairs well with the silk itself.
