How Do You Play Curious Questions?
- Shuffle the deck and take turns drawing a card.
- Read it out loud and answer it, or pass it to anyone you like.
- There are no wrong answers. Listen, laugh and ask "why?"
Six Wild Cards Keep It Moving
One has the whole table answer, one lets you ask anything you like, one hands the next card to the youngest player first. There is no score and no winner, which is the point. The best rounds are the ones where somebody asks "wait, really?" and the next card waits.
- Wild card Everyone answers Draw the next card. This time, the whole table answers it.
- Wild card Ask your own Make up any question you like and ask anyone at the table.
- Wild card Pass it left Read the next card to the person on your left. They answer first.
- Wild card Youngest first The youngest player answers the next card, then the oldest.
- Wild card Guess the answer Pick someone and guess how they will answer the next card. Then they tell you.
- Wild card Tell me more Ask the last person who answered one more question about their answer.
A Few of the Questions
Ten of the hundred, two from every theme. Draw one and answer it out loud.
- Wonder What do you think clouds would taste like?
- Imagine You wake up as the principal, boss or mayor for a day. What is your first new rule?
- Remember What is a smell that takes you straight back to being little?
- All About Us Which person at this table would survive best on a desert island?
- Big Little Questions What is something that is hard for you but you keep trying anyway?
- Wonder If you could ask the moon one question, what would you ask?
- Imagine If your shoes could take you anywhere tonight, where would they walk?
- Remember Tell us about a time you laughed so hard you could not stop.
- All About Us What is one thing this family does better than anyone?

What is Curious Questions?
Curious Questions is a deck of 100 conversation cards from The Curious Thing, made for families with teenagers, grown-up children and grandparents (Ages 14+). The questions come in five themes of twenty (Wonder, Imagine, Remember, All About Us and Big Little Questions), covering how the world works, what-ifs, family stories, how well you know each other, and feelings. 6 wild cards change who answers, such as the whole table at once or the youngest player first. There is no score and no winner: you draw a card, read it aloud, and answer it or pass it on. The cards are standard playing-card size on thick matte stock and come in a hook-lid box. Each deck is printed to order in Madison, Wisconsin, and costs $39 with free US shipping.
What ages is the Curious Questions deck for?
Ages 14+. It is made for families with teenagers, grown-up children home for the holidays, and grandparents at the same table. Every question is written so a fifteen-year-old and a grandparent can both answer it.
How do you play?
Shuffle the deck and take turns drawing a card. Read it out loud and answer it, or pass it to anyone you like. There are no wrong answers. Listen, laugh and ask "why?" There is no score and no winner. A round can be one card at dinner or the whole deck on a long drive.
What is in the box?
100 question cards in five themes (Wonder, Imagine, Remember, All About Us, Big Little Questions), 6 wild cards that change who answers, and a how-to-play card. They come in a sturdy card box with a hook lid that keeps the deck together in a bag or a glovebox.
How big are the cards?
Standard playing-card size, 2.5 by 3.5 inches, on thick matte card stock with large type that can be read across a table.
Where is it made and how long does it take?
Each deck is printed to order by The Game Crafter in Madison, Wisconsin, then shipped to you by USPS. Their print queue is long this season: a deck ordered today is expected to ship around December 7. We email you the tracking link the day it leaves.
Do you ship outside the US?
Not yet. The price includes US shipping, and the checkout takes US addresses only.
Can I give it as a gift?
Yes. Put the recipient's address in the shipping step at checkout and it ships straight to them. There is no price on anything in the box.
